NEIL CHAKRABORTY
MANAGING PARTNER
Neil is a partner at NGEN Capital, and is responsible for investment management and corporate strategy. Before NGEN he was an Executive Director at Morgan Stanley in London where he worked as a portfolio manager. He and his team managed equity assets of $1.4 billion; his group managed $7 billion. Previously Neil was a Vice President at Credit Suisse in London. He started his career at a mining firm in Canada followed by a financial technology firm specialising in banking applications.
Neil holds an MSc in Mathematics & Finance from Imperial College, London and an MBA in Finance from The University of British Columbia, Canada. He also holds degrees in Computer Science and Electrical Engineering.
WILLIAM MOK
INVESTMENT DIRECTOR
William is a partner at NGEN Capital and works as a Portfolio Manager. William joined NGEN from MSCI, where he conducted research on MSCI/BARRA’s Risk Premia indices and provided advice to the largest pension funds and sovereign wealth funds in Europe, Middle East & Africa. Previously, he was a Vice President at Nomura International in London, managing equity factor alpha solutions and index. Prior to Nomura, William worked as a senior quantitative analyst at Morgan Stanley in a team that managed over $4 billion. He started his career at Lehman Brothers.
William holds an MSc in Finance as well as a PhD in Mathematical Finance from Birkbeck College, University of London.
MARK HIGTON
PARTNER
Mark is a partner at NGEN Capital. He is a founding partner of Higton Associates, and has held various profit and non profit directorships.
He advises major family offices and banks and has extensive experience in the fields of quantitative strategies, analytics, capital structuring, and risk. He commenced his career applying machine learning to trading and trade processing systems; clients included Credit Suisse, Deutsche Bank. and Greenwich Natwest.
Mark read an MSc in Economics from The London School of Economics, and holds a BSc (Hons.) in Computer Science from NTU.
NICHOLAS HIGTON
PARTNER
Prior to joining Higton Associates, he was a Director at various Financial Services firms including GSK and Watmough-Mallett working across Risk Analytics, Treasury, and Quantitative Solutions. Before this he was a Senior Developer/Technologist at The IoGroup (Valad Property Group) and NTC Research (IHS MarkIT) within MIS Operations & Technology.
He holds a BSc (Hons) in Computer Science from University College Northampton focused on Genetic Algorithms and Fuzzy Logic.
DEBASHIS DASGUPTA
HEAD OF OPERATIONS
Debashis is the Head of Operations at NGEN Capital, responsible for operational management and business processes. He is a lead sponsor of the firm’s strategic initiatives. Before NGEN, Debashis was a private banker at IDFC First Bank in India. Previously, he was International Banking Head at Standard Chartered Bank in India, Service & Operations Head for Citi’s UK and Europe NRI Business in London, and Service & Operations Head at UTI International in Singapore.
Debashis holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Business Management from the Institute of Management Technology, Ghaziabad, India and a Bachelor’s degree in Commerce from St Xavier’s College, University of Calcutta.
